Value Led...

Kinship, Compassion, Community

Wild Ways is a business built by people, for people.

From the day I opened I wanted to create a space that contributed to the community fabric of the town. I believe that Stories can help bring people together. Whether you're reading them, telling them or participating in them, all three happen under our roof and have helped our members find themselves and one another through the medium of narrative.

My working background is in Early Years and Mental Health. I realised early on the importance of have a constant and safe space to call home. Somewhere where both the door and the people were always open to inviting you in and taking you as you are.

Here at Wild Ways we try in every way possible to set the example. Making new members feel welcome, teaching them new games and introducing them to the people who for many, have become close and valued friends. As long as you respect the space and the other people that use it, you get to stay as part of 'us', whether that means taking part in a tournament, reading quietly in a corner, having a cup of tea and sketching at a table, thinking hard about your next move in a board game, eating your lunch, completing homework or snuggled on the sofa just chatting with friends.

Our membership ranges from 8 years old to 80 years old. Groups of Friends, Couples and Whole Families are part of the Club and most come in at least once a week.

We have a team of Game Patrons, trusted long time members who have demonstrated the ability to work with people of any age well and foster the value of compassion we hold dear.

We are all backgrounds, beliefs, ages, cultures and experience levels, but we work, play and laugh, together and that's the way, we commit to keeping.  ba
